How You Train Makes the DifferenceTM
Triathlon Coaching and Training Plans
MHM Kids Triathlon Team
Mile High Multisport is pleased to announce our Junior/Junior Elite triathlon teams in 2010 for children ages 10-17. Each session is centered on the following areas: Skill development in all three disciplines, health and safety and race preparation.
Each week, our staff of USAT certified coaches will hold three sessions centered on swimming, cycling and running. Proper diet and living a healthy lifestyle will be incorporated into our teachings. Classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:15 – 6:15 p.m. in the Highlands Ranch Community (locations will vary from week to week) and swimming on Sunday afternoons (times to be finalized based on pool availability).
All children must be able to swim 100 yards in the pool without stopping, own a bicycle in good working order and have supportive running shoes. Triathlon is a rigorous sport and clearance from a medical professional is required prior to beginning any activity.
- Option 1: June 1 - August 15 (there are several youth races during the month of August which will coincide with the training sessions)
- HRCA Youth Series (July 17, August 28)
- Fall Frenzy Youth Triathlon (August 21)
- Boulder Iron Kids (August 7th)
- Avon Iron Kids (July 11)
Cost: $225 (Does not include cost of races. Please register your children early as these races fill quickly)
Option 2: This is a month to month program for participants who would like to train year round.
Cost $150/month
Option 3: Mile High Multisport has partnered with the Highlands Ranch Community Association to offer Youth Triathlon training camps for children between the ages of 9-16. The Camps are held in conjunction with the HRCA youth triathlon series. Information on camp dates and prices can be found at the HRCA web site.
